Congratulations! The St. John Neumann Community rejoices with you as you prepare for and celebrate the arrival of your child. The following outlines the requirements for baptisms celebrated at St. John Neumann.

Requirements for Baptism at St. John Neumann Parents must be registered parishioners and must have completed the Baptism Sacramental Preparation here at SJN within the last 3 years. With permission, non-parishioners (i.e., the grandchild of parishioners) may be also be baptized at SJN.

Baptism Sacramental Preparation Register for Sacramental Preparation in either English or Spanish by coming to the Parish Office during business hours or by visiting the Welcome Desk after Mass on the weekend.

A $15 materials fee is collected at the time of registration.

Part 1 of the Sacramental Preparation is to Read and Reflect on Baby's Baptism: Sacrament of Welcome or El Bautismo de su Bebe

Part 2 of the Sacramental Preparation, also known as the "Baptism Class," is to attend the Session (Class) at SJN for Parents. Godparents are welcome to attend the Part 2 Session.
  • Spanish - Offered the first Sunday of the month after the 2:00 pm Mass.

  • English - Offered the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm in the church. This class is for Adults only. Please make arrangements for child care. Nursing mothers may consider bringing their sitter who can take the child to the nursery during the class.
Setting a date for Baptism at St. John Neumann
After having completed part 2 of the Sacramental Preparation (i.e., the session held at SJN, also known as the Baptism Class), AND after the birth of the child, contact the office M-F, from 9:00am to 4:00pm to set the date for the celebration of the sacrament.
