Many separated and divorced Catholics are confused about their status in the Catholic Church. As a result of the confusion many divorced Catholics fail to participate in the spiritual and sacramental life of the Church, and many Catholic communities fail to welcome them as fully as they should.
In a pastoral message to families, the U.S. bishops assured divorced persons “relationships and circumstances within your family may have changed, but God’s love for you is ever present and does not come to an end.” “There is a home for you within our parishes and communities of faith,” the bishops wrote.
Are you divorced or separated? What you like to talk with someone else who is traveling the same journey? Would you like to find out more about what our Catholic faith has to say regarding divorce? How do I deal with my anger? Am I still a lovable person? Could you use some positive thoughts regarding your future?
Please consider joining our Divorced or Separated ministry. We meet weekly each spring.
