There are a number of ways that specific needs can be brought into the community's prayer and lifted to God's care.

Prayer Chain

The Prayer Chain is comprised of a group of parishioners whose ministry is to pray together - simultaneously and in one accord - although not physically together. Prayers for the strength and healing of loved ones who are ill, undergoing surgery, facing a crisis in their lives are passed through the prayer chain by phone.

Prayer requests may be called into the Parish Office, 703-860-8510, Monday through Friday.

Mass Intentions

Mass Intentions for the living or deceased can be arranged by visiting the Parish Office during business hours, 9:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Book of Intercessions

Each time we gather for Mass we pray for the pressing needs of the Church, the world, our community and those most in need of our prayers in the Prayer of the Faithful (or General Intercessions). Because there is so much in our world in need of being lifted to God through our prayer, we also include all of the specific intentions entered into the Book of Intercession, located in the Bell Tower area near the Baptismal font. All are encouraged to add to the Book of Intercessions the prayers in their hearts that they wish to give concrete expression in writing.

Prayer List

In addition to the Prayer Chain, prayers for those who are ill can be included in the Prayer List printed each week in the bulletin or mentioned by name in the Prayers of the Faithful for an extended but finite period of time. Contact the Parish Office to have someone included in one of these lists.
